All of Houston is experiencing a period of explosive growth and with this growth comes dynamic opportunities for businesses and individuals alike. Southeast Houston is growing at a tremendous rate. New home construction, retail space and employment are all skyrocketing. Renovations and beautification of the main corridors of traffic are laying the foundation for a revitalized Houston area.
The Greater Southeast Management District (GSMD) is a political subdivision of the State of Texas. It was legislatively created in 2001 as a special district for the purpose of supplementing some of those services usually provided by Harris County and/or the City of Houston.
The District encompasses a large physically and demographically diverse area of south central Houston located within the I-610 Loop and southeast Houston's Central Business District. The District represents an older section of the Houston metro area that is prime for redevelopment.
The District's economic strength relies heavily on its location, situated in close proximity to major employment centers and educational institutions.
