persons in the District, while making the best use of public
and private resources, thereby encouraging businesses and
commercial activity within the District.

Programs
Formation of a District
Safety Initiative that coordinates the efforts of the
Houston Police Department, Harris County Constable Precinct
7, METRO Police, HISD Police, Texas Medical Center Police,
Texas Southern University Campus Police, University of
Houston Campus Police and Houston Community College Campus
Police to promote enhanced public safety, effective
cooperation, and law enforcement information sharing within
the District.
Monitoring criminal
activity within the District and providing periodic safety
briefings, in conjunction with law enforcement entities,
for property managers, interested citizens, and local
private security personnel.
Monitoring the development
of crime deterrence technology and programs in other areas
and updating the District's programs as needed to provide
safety services that are effective and cost-efficient.
Providing crime prevention,
anti-gang and drug awareness programs and safety seminars
for the benefit of property owners, residents and tenants
within the District.
